Abraham Lake, located in David Thompson Country on the eastern approach to the Canadian Rockies, offers some spectacular winter scenery. The wide prairie to the east offers flat terrain; if there is any cloud above the lake, it will become enflamed at dawn leading to a brilliant combination of light and color. Here, the vastness of the frozen lake lies below Mt. Michener, Mt. William Booth and Ex Coelis Mountain. The sense of scale is enhanced by the figure of a kneeling photographer on the right hand side of the scene, also capturing the glory of this winter morning.
