Artist's Description
The digital artwork started as a photograph of Mt. Rundle at Vermillion Lakes, near the town of Banff. It was well after dark but a bright moon was shining, lighting up the layer of lower clouds that had crept in starting around sundown. The orange glow of the town lights shining up from below made the scene look something like a forest fire. I took the image in a more artistic direction, filtering out most of the detail and rendering the colors down into a basic, dark medley to hopefully add to the mysterious lighting conditions and subject elements.
