Description
The Trees is a well-recognized sculpture standing at one end of Stephen Avenue, a pedestrian walking mall in downtown Calgary. It was conceived by an architecture firm in conjunction with a large banking skyscraper development, as both a visual piece and a pragmatic one -- its form is intended to help break up wind gusts that rocket down the avenue as the tall buildings form a wind tunnel. Appropriate in another way -- steel trees for a concrete jungle.
