Description
One good thing about the prairies -- you can see things coming a long way off. One fall afternoon while driving the Transcanada Highway west of Calgary, I spied a storm front well ahead of me. There aren't many side roads, but there was one ideally placed to get off the highway and away from the traffic. I pulled up alongside a fence bordering a small wetland and photographed the rain sheeting down over empty fields in the late afternoon sunlight. It was a great way to take a break from the road.
