Description
Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place near the small town of Socorro, New Mexico. Best known for its massive over-wintering flocks of Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese, the refuge is a major attraction for bird watchers and photographers. Away from the birds, the land itself beckons as well -- wetlands & riparian terrain of the Rio Grande meld with Chihuahuan desert plains. In the fall & winter, the rich earth tones warmly complement the blue New Mexico sky. With luck, a frosty morning will add an extra sparkling note to the scene.
