Artist's Description

Reaching the "Big Bend Overlook" on the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper, the road gains elevation and rewards the traveler with a wide open view of a shoulder of Mount Saskatchewan looming over the valley. Vegetation has tried to gain a foothold up the sides of the mountain, with some success, but also showing where many rockfalls and avalanches have cleared paths as the mountain gradually crumbles.
