The air is crisp & clear, the sun is shining bright, and the temperature is about -20 C. Just the perfect day for a stroll by the lakeside, camera in hand. Or at least, it's perfect until my hands become too numb to operate the camera controls any more. Then it's back to a source of warmth to thaw out... and repeat the experience again. If winter must be had, you can't beat it in the Canadian Rockies.

Thomas & Justin -- thanks for the notes! Russell -- too right! Gloves, liners, mittens, gauntlets, chemical warmers, it seems like I've got half a trunk full of winter hand gear. But somehow it's never there or never the right thing and the ol' hands always pay the price once again. :)

Well captured mate....well presented in B/W. Someone needs to come up with some thermal gloves, thin enough that will allow us to fiddle around with dials , buttons, nobs..I guess until then, it's back to a warm spot to get the feeling back into our extremities.
